Last night's nutrition workshop at Kika's House wasn't just another meeting – it was a turning point for our community's health journey. As we gathered to discuss how food affects our bodies, one truth became crystal clear: what we put in our bodies today determines our health tomorrow.

During our powerful discussion, we explored how certain foods create inflammation in our bodies. This isn't just about feeling bloated or tired – it's about the silent damage that leads to chronic diseases that plague our community:

Our Community's Bold Move


After learning about these connections, our group made a collective decision that gave me chills. Starting Monday, October 28, 2024, we're saying goodbye to five inflammatory foods that have been staples in many of our diets:


1. Alcohol: Which stresses our liver and disrupts sleep

2. Bread: Often causing blood sugar spikes and gut issues

3. Pork: Known to contribute to inflammation

4. Coffee: Which can affect our adrenal system

5. Dairy: A common source of inflammation for many people


Why These Foods?


Each of these items can trigger inflammatory responses in our bodies. While they might taste good in the moment, they could be contributing to:

- Joint pain

- Digestive issues

- Skin problems

- Energy crashes

- Mood swings

- Long-term health complications
