Celebrating Freedom and Togetherness: Juneteenth Weekend with Werk Fitness!


Greetings wonderful community!


As Juneteenth approaches, let’s take a moment to reflect on its significance. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans were informed of their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day is not just a reminder of freedom from physical bondage, but also an inspiration to work towards freedom in our minds and bodies. This Juneteenth, let us come together as a community to honor the past, celebrate the present, and foster a healthier future. Werk Fitness is thrilled to announce a weekend-long series of activities starting June 17th to embrace wellness and togetherness. 🎉


Day 1: Saturday, June 17th - Embrace Your Strength 💪


9:00 AM - Juneteenth Bootcamp


Location: Werk Fitness Gym


Our bootcamp class is designed to help you unearth the strength that lies within you. This vigorous workout will not only help you build physical strength but also empower your spirit. As we sweat and toil, let’s remember the struggles of those who came before us and honor their courage and resilience.


Day 2: Sunday, June 18th - Run for Freedom 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️


9:00 AM - Freedom Run at Freedom Park


Location: Freedom Park


There couldn’t be a more fitting way to celebrate Juneteenth than a run through Freedom Park! This symbolic run is not just for fitness; it is a run for freedom, equality, and unity. As you feel the ground beneath your feet and the wind in your hair, envision a world where freedom and justice are not just words but a reality for all.


Day 3: Monday, June 19th - Nurture the Mind and Body 🧘‍♀️🌿


9:00 AM - Juneteenth Wellness Workshop


Location: Werk Fitness Gym


Juneteenth is not only about looking back but also about nurturing our present selves to build a better future. Our Wellness Workshop will offer meditation, mindfulness practices, and nutrition advice. Through this workshop, we aim to equip you with tools for mental and physical wellness, fostering an environment where you can grow as an individual and contribute positively to society.
